Introduction
Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a three-year professional Master's Degree in computer
science awarded in India. The post graduate program is designed to meet the growing demand for
qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology. The MCA program is inclined more toward
Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming language and tools to
develop better and faster applications.
MCA is a course exclusively designed to meet the requirements for IT trained students for various
organizations. This course significantly emphasizes planning, designing and building of complex
commercial application software and system software. The course also places equal importance on
functional knowledge in various areas. A three year full-time MCA course is not just a postgraduate
course; it is also a complete professional grooming for students for a successful career in the IT Industry.
Eligibility
Candidates who have done BCA,BIT,BE/B.Tech /AMIE/B.Sc(C.Sc)/B.Sc (IT) from a recognized
University or Bachelors Degree in any discipline with more than four years of experience in IT industry.
Program Duration
The course is made up of 6 semesters which may be completed within a minimum duration of 3 years and
a maximum duration of 6 years.
Evaluation and Examination
Internal Assessments
Each course in the program shall have an Internal Assessment score based on assignments
submitted during the course (two per course), class participation, discussion, and internal tests.
The minimum percentage required in Internal Assessment is 40% per course. Any student securing
less than 40% in a particular course will not be considered eligible to write the End Term Examination
for that course and shall have to reappear for the assignments in the following semester.
External Examinations
Term end examination will be conducted twice a year by the University, as well as two Supplementary Examination Cycles.
Exams are conducted Online,using the ProctorEd Web Proctored Online Exams System. These exams can be taken from anywhere in the World.
Conducted over an online Computer Based Testing (CBT) system, the End Term Examination shall consist of Multiple Choice Questions and other Objective Question.
